  3. In the past very often one of the head gardeners duties was to arrange the flower displays in the big house. These days its more akin to 'Bill & Ben', when the gardener goes off to lunch the owners of the big house come out themselves and make off with his plants and flowers. Not that I mind as it saves me a job that I wouldn't relish anyway.

  4. I love this clip.

    For years I hated having to put flowers in a vase because I was so self-conscious about making a mess of it. Now I feel strongly that people should do it however they like (or can!) and enjoy it. I do find flowers from the garden more fun to do than bought ones - I love pottering about looking for things that might go nicely. Usually I do just a tiny posey and find that less intimidating.
