In the winter, it's much easier, with no guilt or regret for 'wasting half of my day'!! I can't imagine entering my garden in a contest. Your English gardens are so beautiful though. Having a woodsy lot, it's hard for mine to ever stay the same; one day it looks good, then it's all down hill either from lack of or too much water, too much or too little sun, too much heat and humidity, just plain lack of attention, or from the trees dropping leaves and other debris! I just take it on a daily basis and know it'll never be win a prize but I enjoy watching it grow and change with the seasons. Have a great summer.Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12844013803699228989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9151537628759535347.post-53520635852848800712009-07-02T08:44:34.865-07:002009-07-02T08:44:34.865-07:00Nice garden!Nice garden!Ana-Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00919447537582427373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9151537628759535347.post-91769206120248818262009-07-01T09:35:49.513-07:002009-07-01T09:35:49.513-07:00Emily I am with you! Normally this time of year my garden would be a lush oasis, but instead it is a dehydrated wilted mess!Dirt Princesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02738312834526690841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9151537628759535347.post-85339057692618432952009-07-01T09:21:12.680-07:002009-07-01T09:21:12.680-07:00BTW, I managed to buy a copy of the Napoleon of No...BTW, I managed to buy a copy of the Napoleon of Notting Hill AND a copy of the Father Brown stories, so thanks so much for mentioning it. Actually I have ordered a new camera today but haven't dared tell Mike yet!

I always come back with ideas from Wisley but none as expensive as this one. I got chatting to a photographer who was doing arial photos of the small gardens. I think his avice finally clinched what I had been considering for some months.

I am hopeing it arrives before I go to Hampton Court flower show on the 8th July.

Looking forward to more of your posts soon.Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12905137222286141548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9151537628759535347.post-6379515850213316642009-06-30T14:33:39.922-07:002009-06-30T14:33:39.922-07:00Ha ha ha - I love that. I strongly suspect, from looking at the front gardens that win, that hybrid tea roses and bedding in straight lines are the order of the day. But I'm being mean now because I chickened out.EBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09405771860220362327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9151537628759535347.post-62196137829348992502009-06-30T14:10:40.217-07:002009-06-30T14:10:40.217-07:00Hello, Emily! My stepmother didn't even enter hers for the local In Bloom competition but was told she'd won the category for the Best Arid Garden. She didn't know whether to be pleased or offended.Victoria Summerleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05055381807236106596noreply@blogger.com
